New Roles recognised under the National Occupation List (NOL) for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)

From 3 November 2025, INZ will recognise 91 new roles for AEWV and Specific Purpose Work Visas (SPWV) - National Occupation List occupations used for an AEWV or SPWV

What does this mean?

If you are working in a directly relevant skill level 4 - 5 role you may be able to move to one of the new roles. This may mean you Maximum Continuous Stay (MCA) in New Zealand will increase to a total of 5 years and you may also be able to bring your family. You will need to have at least 3 years of relevant experience or a recognised qualification.

This recognition is for WORK VISA PURPOSES ONLY. It DOES NOT apply to residence category applications (e.g Skilled Migrant Category). These still use the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) assessment.

Eventually the NOL will replace ANZSCO as a measure of occupation and skill levels, but the transition will take time as the NOL gradually develops.

Get in touch with us if you think you may qualify.
